Lightest 13-Inch Laptop by Fujitsu, is Best for Business

Fujitsu, one of the oldest computer manufacturers in the world have just announced the latest in a long line of laptops that have been released by them. This is a company that is well renowned for its computer and electronic products. You might not have heard of them until recently, but they have been around since before WW2, established in 1935 to be precise. In fact they are the third oldest IT Company in the whole world. The first computer in Japan was manufactured by them as well as some of the oldest systems in the world. So this is a company that has its roots well embedded in the IT world, and they have been producing quality computers and laptops for quite some time now. Although they have lacked in gaining as much attention as the other standards of the industries like Samsung, HP, and IBM, they have still maintained a level of quality and innovation unlike some other main league manufacturers.

A new notebook was announced by Fujitsu that weighs a mere 799 grams, lifebook u937/P. supporting the latest and the best, a fully fledged Intel core i5 Kaby lake. The display is a respectable 13.3 inch display, sporting an FHD high end display. So far almost all of your basic and high end needs, this laptop is used to it all. However there is a finger scanner which suggests that the laptop is more geared towards the business or office use. Further specs that have been speculated about for the lifebook U/937P are, a whooping 8GB or more of ram. An SSD of at least 256 GB, and most probably an upgrade for the other type of HD that exists. It will also support 2 x USB ports that are USB 3.0, type A. It will be amazing. These specs squashed in to a slim body that’s only speculated to be around 15.5 mm, that is something that seems quite unbelievable but it exists.

This raises concern about the machine being prone to overheating etc. That is what’s being reported of HP and Acer. However this is fujisu and not a lot of complaints are heard about what some call the sturdiest laptops ever. There is another laptop planned by Fujitsu and it’s called the lifebook UH75/B1.Now the specs of this machine are quite similar, but it seems like it will be lighter than the other laptop. It is speculated to be 777 grams. Which is very low considering the clunky laptops that are used by an average user nowadays. The specs for UH75/B1 are, the same 13” display, CPU might be an i5 7200, and the ram is expected to be 4 GB DDR 4, a 128 GB solid state drive and a pretty good OS as well. Now you need to understand that the UH75/B1 is the cheaper alternative to u937/P.

Now let’s talk about the prices, the UH75/B is announced to be around 190000 Japanese yen, that’s around 1660 USD, and the u937/P is priced around 284000 Japanese yen or almost around 2500 USD. So the difference is about almost 1000 USD. That is a lot considering that the hardware difference is not that much however it’s probably due to the Kaby lake processor and the earlier generation I5. Plus there could also be difference because of the graphics cards and the details for them haven’t arrived yet. Also included are obviously, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Modules, plus also a 3.5 mm jack (unlike iPhone) and some nice internal speakers. Also your standard SD card reader, a 720p webcam and a finger print scanner.

Now why would you need such an expensive laptop when you could just stick with a regular clunky one? Well if you need to just put the laptop in one place and work from there than that’s ok, the other options might be better, however, if you’ve ever been in a situation when you have to hang the laptop on your shoulder and run from place to place all day, your shoulder does get sore, and this is where the light weight comes in. You’re walking with either of these models in a bag and you won’t even feel like you’re carrying a laptop. It should feel light as a feather on your shoulders and be super convenient. The very slim size of the laptops also makes them attractive to a lot of business men and women. Apart from looking absolutely beautiful, the thin size means that you won’t have to go get a special bag just for this laptop, you can stick either of these in any bag you have and nothing will happen to the laptop. Easy to carry and easy to manage, what more could a business man on the go think of better.

Now what about its battery? There is not a lot of mention anywhere about its battery life but what I’ve been able to discover is this, a 25 WH accumulator can power the laptop for 8 hours. Ask any business man you want, all they require is a steady laptop. That can last at least 5-6 hours off the charger and charging line. So 8 hours is a massive progress than. They can use this laptop however they want. And the added finger print security measure makes your data that’s on the laptop stays safe and is not tampered with.

So these are the two new additions to the laptop choices for this year. Are they the best entry? We don’t think so. Despite being crazy light, the specs are just not worth the price that they are offering. A good ultra book should cost around 1500-2000 USD and it would have higher specs than these 2 machines. So our suggestion would be to wait for at least the second quarter of the year if you want to go for some laptop hunting. But if you don’t care, or are just loyal to your brands then go ahead, pick a fujitsu, you have a choice of 2 colors, either get it in hot red, or snazzy black, completely up to you.
